Here's How:
- Verify that you are submitting eligible photos: Please submit only candid photos you have taken. Photos must be of kids at play, with a caregiver, at child care, or close-ups (sorry, no professional/studio portraits will be accepted). If you are not the parent of a child in the photo, permission needs to be obtained by parents of other children and will need to be noted.
- Photo credit: Specify how you want the photo credited (i.e. Photo by Robin McClure.)
- Submit your photo by email: Attach your photograph to an email. Type the following text in the subject line of your email: childcare photograph submission. Send the email to: childcare.guide@about.com. Submit as many photographs as you want, but you may need to attach large files to multiple emails (depending on the limits of your email server).
- What to expect after you submit your photos: If approved, submissions may take a few weeks to appear in either a photo album or in conjunction with child care or parenting articles on the site. Photos may be rejected if they are not of sufficient quality for posting, if the content is objectionable, if the portrait is by a professional photographer and not a candid photos, or if the guide deems it is not a right match for the Child Care site.
Tips:
- Only photos of children, or of kids with a caregiver, teacher or parent, will be featured on the Child Care site.
- Submit as many photographs as you want, but if files sizes are large, submit them via multiple emails.
- By submitting photographs to About, you are granting About.com Inc. permission to publish the image on the Child Care website as well as other pages that display Child Care content such as the About.com home page, the Parenting channel page, and newsletters. Your photograph may be added to a gallery, and may also be used to illustrate articles.
- Every time your photograph is displayed on the site, it will be displayed with a credit caption to identify you as the sole copyright owner.
